Highlights of the Tour

The Divine Spiritual Trail (12 Nights / 13 Days) takes you across India’s most sacred spiritual hubs and historic cities. Starting from Rishikesh and Haridwar, the journey continues through Paonta Sahib and Kurukshetra (land of the Mahabharata), before reaching the holy towns of Mathura & Vrindavan, followed by the Mughal wonder Agra (Taj Mahal). The trail further explores Naimisharanya, Lucknow’s heritage sites, the divine city of Ayodhya (Ram Janmabhoomi), the sacred confluence at Prayagraj, the serene landscapes of Chitrakoot, and finally the eternal city of Varanasi & Sarnath, known for their ghats, temples, and spiritual energy. This journey blends spirituality, history, culture, and devotion into a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Itinerary

Upon arrival transfer to Rishikesh. 'Place of sages' is a celebrated spiritual town on the bank of Ganga and surrounded by Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. Besides holding spiritual significance for Hindus, Rishikesh is renowned as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World,’ the fast-flowing Ganges is surrounded by forested hills inside the city. Apart from temples and ashrams Rishikesh is now a popular white-water rafting center, backpacker hang-out, and gateway to treks in the Himalaya. In the afternoon visit Ramjhula, Janaki Setu, Parmarth Niketan, Geeta Bhawan, in the evening you may visit Triveni Ghat to see the prayers. Overnight at the hotel. 

After breakfast visit Lakshman Jhoola: A suspension bridge across the Ganga along the old route to the holy shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath. Visit Neelkanth temple, which is positioned at the hilltop of the Swarg ashram (1675 meters). It is the place where Lord Shiva drank up the venom comprised of the ocean, to keep the arena from destruction.  

Optional: After this proceed to your river rafting camp for an exciting river rafting experience. Post lunch transfer to river rafting point and we will have first session of our river rafting experience. 

Afternoon is at leisure, in evening you may again cross over the river and see the prayers.  Overnight at the camp.

After breakfast drive to Haridwar. The city of Haridwar holds religious significance since it is where the holy river Ganga first enters the Indo-Gangetic Plains of North India. We will visit Mansa Devi temple, Maya Devi temple, Daksha Mahadev temple, Sapta Rishi temple and Ramanand ashram.  After the spiritual journey, return to the hotel and relax. In the evening witness the Ganga Aarti at Har-ki –Pauri.  Har-ki-Pauri is the main ghat known as Brahmakund, popular legend has it that Lord Vishnu left his footprint at Har-ki-Pauri.  The entire area resonates with the sound of conch shells and bells, as priests perform traditional river worship. Thousands of earthen lamps are floating in the river, twinkling like gold in the darkness, creating an entrancing image. After this divine experience, return to the hotel for the night stay. 

After breakfast leave for Kurukshetra via Paonta sahib (85 kms 2-3hrs). After a beautiful drive we reach Paonta Sahib, a city sacred to the memory of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Gurudwara Paonta Sahib (200m):   was Guru Gobind Singh’s home for over four years and it was here that he wrote the ‘Dasam Granth’. Within its precincts are the ‘Sri Talab Asthan’, where he disbursed salaries and the ‘Sri Dastar Asthan’, where he judged the turban-tying competitions. There is also a memorial of ‘Kalpi Rishi’ and a museum that displays pens of the Guru and weapons of the time. After that drive to Kurukshetra. (4hrs) Arrive by late afternoon and visit sights in Kurukshetra, such as Sri Krishna Museum and Planetorium, Narkatari Temple , Nabhi Kamal Temple , old Shiva temple , Bhim kund, Saraswati kund, Panch Mukhi Hanuman (a statue of Lord Hanuman featuring him with five faces) and Raja ka Tila (a mound with a little fortress). Visit Jyotisar, birthplace of ' Geeta ', revered as most sacred book of Hindus. Mahabharata battle was fought here. Bhadrakali Temple one of the Shaktipeeth.  Overnight at Kurukshetra,

After breakfast leave for Mathura, en-route we stop Akshardham temple in Delhi. Situated on the banks of Yamuna River, The temple constructed under the patronage of the Bochasanvasi Aksharpurushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), spreads over an area of 100 acres. The mega Akshardham Temple complex has well maintained lawns, adorned with water fountains and carved pavilions. The Akshardham temple is considered as one of the wonders of modern India. Arrive Mathura by evening and check into hotel. Overnight at hotel.

08AM: After breakfast leave for Agra via Mathura and Vrindavan.Mathura it is one of the seven great cities and is considered one of the holiest cities in India. Lakhs of pilgrims come here every year to visit the Dwarikadhish temple and Vishramgaht. Also visit Vrindavan (District Mathura) - situated at a distance of 9.6 km. from Mathura. There are about 4, 000 temples, ghats and sarovars in Vrindavan.Govind Dev temple

 is a treat, Rangnath temple built of white stone in the Dravidian style. Other famous temples are Behariji temple, Radhavallabh temple, Radharaman temple, Gopinath temple, Shahji temple, Ashta Sakhi temple etc. Continue drive to Agra (another one hour) Arrive Agra by 02 PM: and check into hotel.  The city is world famous as city of the Taj Mahal, the monument of everlasting love. But there are many more things to see in Agra! The royal Mughal has, in addition to the legendary Taj, many magnificent monuments that epitomize the high point of the Mughal architectural achievement. Not even Delhi, the seat of kings and emperors for over a thousand years, can boast such a heritage of architectural and cultural splendor from the golden age of the Great Mughals. P.M visit the Tajmahal It stands serene and perfect in its garden of cypresses and reflecting pools on the banks of the River Yamuna. It’s pure white marble shimmers silver in the moonlight, glows softly pink at dawn, and at close of day reflects the fiery tints of the setting sun. The Taj, in all its timeless beauty, was built by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal who died giving birth to their 14th child. Return to hotel for Overnight stay.

After breakfast leave for Naimisharanya (5hrs) -It was at this place that for establishing Dharma on the earth, the Gods requested Maharshi Dadhichi to give his bones for preparing a weapon to kill the Demon Vrittrasur. Visit Dadhichi Kund (where Sage Dadhichi sacrificed his bones).  Explore Sut Gaddi (where Puranas were narrated). Visit Balaji Temple & Nav Grah Temple. Explore Mishrikh Teerth (connected to Rishi Dadhichi). By late afternoon or evening, we proceed to Lucknow (3hrs) Arrive and check into the hotel. Lucknow is known for its rich history and cultural heritage, also has several spiritual sites that offer peace and devotion.  Overnight at the hotel.

A.M. Local sightseeing of Lucknow visit Bara Imambara and Chhota Imambara. Both are imposing monuments with great historical significance. Explore the city and the attractions it holds, Lucknow is an interesting place with great things to offer. The structures in the city showcase the fine blend of Indo-Islamic and colonial era. Visit some sites like: Dilkusha Garden, Shah Najaf, Ram Krishna Math, Moti Mahal, La Martiniere, Chattra Manzil,  By Afternoon proceed to Ayodhaya. Arrive and check into hotel. Evening visit Saryu River. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast explore Ayodhya and visit Ram Janam Bhumi, followed by visit to other sites such as Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhavan, Tulsi Smarak Bhawan, Sita Ki Rasoi, Remnants of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Islam can still be found in Ayodhya. According to Jain belief, five Tirthankaras were born at Ayodhya, including Adinath (Rishabhadeva), the 1st tirthankara. Leave for Prayagraj by afternoon and arrive by evening. Overnight at the hotel. 

After breakfast explore Allahabad, which is among the largest cities in Uttar Pradesh. Hindu mythology has it that for the Prakrishta Yaina, Lord Brahma, the creator God of the Trinity, chose a land on earth, on which the three rivers would flow in to a quiet confluence. Brahma also referred to it as `Tirth Raj' or the `king of all pilgrimage centers'. Allahabad stands at the confluence of two of India's holiest rivers, the Ganga and the Yamuna. Visit Sangam, as the confluence is called, is the venue of many sacred fairs and rituals, and attracts thousands of pilgrims throughout the year. This number swells to millions during the world-famous Kumbh Mela. A third mythical Saraswati river, believed to flow underground towards the Sangam, gives the confluence its other name 'Triveni'.  After that visit Shankar Viman Mandapam - Located in the banks of the Triveni Sangam, it is the only Temple in the city which is built in south Indian style. The architecture of the temple reflects the Dravidian style and has four storeys showcasing the shrines of different gods and goddesses on each floor. Lalita Devi Mandir - This famous and prominent temple is considered as one of the Shakti Peeth temples in India. It is revered to be important because it is believed that Bhagwati Lalita Devi appeared in this very place after Sita’s fingers had fallen on the river bank of Yamuna. It is the focal point of thousands of devotees across the nation and is among one of the most ancient temples in the city. Although the whole temple is bustling with life throughout the day, one can still experience peace of mind and calmness while there. By afternoon we drive to Chitrakoot. If you arrive on time visit the Ghats to see evening prayers. You may enjoy a boat ride. The boat ride offers a serene view of the surroundings, and you will see the beautiful landscape of the Chitrakoot region. The Mandakini River is particularly significant in the Ramayana, and you’ll often hear the locals singing devotional songs as you ride. Stay at Ram Ghat for the evening aarti (prayer ceremony), which is an awe-inspiring experience. The aarti is performed by priests on the banks of the Mandakini River, with candles, incense, and chants filling the air. The reflection of the flames on the water and the hymns create a deeply spiritual and serene atmosphere. 

After early breakfast local sightseeing of Chitrakook covering, Hanuman Dharas a great shrine dedicated to Lord Hanuman, in one of the wooded hills of Chitrakoot. Kamadgiri a forested mountain, is of prime religious importance in Chitrakoot District. As per legends, Lord Brahma performed havan here, with 108 fire pits, before creating the universe  Gupt Godavari located at a distance of 19 km south of Ram Ghat. As per the legend, the Godavari River emerging as a perennial stream from the rocks deep inside this cave, flows down to another cave below and then disappears. P.M. drive for Varanasi. Arrive by late evening and check into the hotel. 

 

In the Rigveda, the city of Varanasi is called Kasi or Kashi, "The Luminous one."  Varanasi is the cradle of human civilisation where shoots of education, literature and culture were born. The famous Indian poets and religious reformers like Kabir and Tulsi Das spent a large part of their lives here. The city of Varanasi is especially famous for its “ghats”, banks covered with stone steps that allow Hindu devotees to go down to the river to offer pujas and ablutions. Bathing in the Ganges is a very important ritual for Hindus, more particularly for specific castes on specific ghats. The most well-known Ghat is Manikarnika, where non-cremations happen. The most important temple of the city is the “Kashi Vishvanatha”or the "Golden Temple". Non-Hindus are forbidden to enter this temple.  The renowned Banaras Hindu University, founded by Madan Mohan Malaviya in 1916 attracts students from all over India. The city is also famous for its embroidered silk saris with zardosi and brocade work, for glass beads, woodwork and most of all Banaras sweets and the famous banarasi“paan” ( betel )!

Early Morning: Experience the morning atmosphere with a morning boat ride on the Ganges in Varanasi. Enjoy the mystical and spiritual atmosphere as you witness the sunrise and explore the ghats, including Manikarnika Ghat (the largest cremation ground in the world), Dashashwamedh Ghat, Assi Ghat, and others.  Return to the hotel for breakfast.   Later: Visit the famous temples of Varanasi, including the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Annapurna Temple, Kaal Bhairav Temple, Bharat Mata Temple, Sankat Mochan (Hanuman Temple), Manas Mandir, and Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

Day Excursion: Travel to Sarnath, the historic site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon at Deer Park. Discover the significant landmarks of Sarnath, including the Buddha Temples, Dhamekha Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, and the Archaeological Museum. Evening: Return to your hotel in Varanasi, enjoy dinner, and relax with an overnight stay.

Evening Activity:Prepare for an unforgettable experience as you visit the renowned Dashashmedh Ghat to witness Ganga Aarti. You can choose to view the Ganga Aarti from a boat (available at an additional cost).  Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast at hotel, visit some more temples such as Visalakhshi temple, Ashtbhairav temple, Chandrakoop Siddeshwari temple, Shital Maa temple.  Later visit the weaver colony of Madanpura and, a wholesale sari market. Here you will observe the enormous influence local culture and religion has had on the life and work of the craftsmen here in Varanasi. You will also meet toy makers along the way too! This is a fantastic excursion for anyone with a specific interest in art, design and textiles. Later drop at airport to board flight back home.
