This 13-day tour covers the remote and stunning landscapes of Himachal Pradesh, including Manali, Spiti, Kinnaur, and Shimla. Travelers experience high-altitude passes like Rohtang and Kunzum, explore ancient monasteries such as Ki, Tabo, and Dhankar, and visit iconic villages like Kibber, Nako, Kalpa, Sangla, and Chitkul. The journey combines cultural exploration, adventure, and breathtaking Himalayan scenery, culminating in Shimla and Chandigarh.
Pick up from Chandigarh airport / station and drive to Manali (8-9hrs) Arrive by late evening and check into the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Early morning we leave for Rohtang Pass (subject to permit and if open), which is situated at an altitude of 3979 meters above sea level and fifty-one kms outside Manali is the mighty Rohtang Pass which is also called - the gateway to Lahaul-Spiti valley. It offers a broad, expansive panorama of the mountains. This is where the majesty of the mountains can be seen in all its height and splendour. If not open visit Sollang valley: A lovely journey, picturesque vistas of tumbling mountains, and the gently meandering Beas River will add a little extra specialness to this trip. During winters, you can go for the intense 300-meter ski lift or other smaller lifts and jumps. For children, there are a ton of surprises in store. From zorbing to horse riding, makes this a wonderful spot for the outing. There are innumerable shops selling delicious snacks and the good old Maggie for the growling stomachs. Overnight at Manali.
After breakfast explore more of Manali and visit Hadimba Temple, Manu Temple, Vashisht Bath, Van Vihar, Tibetan Monastery, and Club House. The afternoon is for leisure and the evening is for shopping at the local market at mall Road. Overnight at a hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Kaza via Rohtang Pass (3980 m) and Kunzam Pass (4558 m) enroute crossing Spitian villages like Losar, Hal and Rangrik. Arrive by evening. Overnight at the guest house.
After breakfast, visit the Ki monastery (12kms). This century – old Gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors – and at one time also acted as a fort. It offers a panoramic view and houses valuable Thangkas. We will also visit the small gompa at Kibber (9kms) Kibber at 4205 m has the distinction of being one of the highest permanently inhabited villages of the region. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast drive to Tabo enroute visiting Pin Valley, Kungri Monastery, and Dhankar Monastery. Visit Tabo Monastery which was founded in 996AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas” due to its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called. Day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast drive to Nako which is located by the banks of lake. Spend some time walking around the village and visiting the monastery. Continue driving to Kalpa village, located in the backdrop of Kinner Kailash mountain range. We will also see the confluence of the Satluj & Spiti rivers at Khab. The rest of the day free to explore Kalpa village. Overnight at the Guest house.
After breakfast drive to Sangla enroute visiting Kamru Fort & village and we will visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist monasteries. You will have a wonderful opportunity to interact with the local people in these valleys. The Sangla valley is also known as the Baspa Sangla valley. Overnight in tented accommodation / or hotel in Sangla.
Visit the village of Chitkul. (2,758 meters) This is the last village on Indian side on the Indo Tibetan border and you will have a chance to walk slowly around it. The village of Chitkul is like something from a fairy tale, the landscapes are stunning. The rest of the time relax in the mountain landscape or if you like you can walk to another nearby villages or for a nature walk. Overnight at the guest house.
After breakfast, drive to Sarahan. Check into the hotel. Later visit the famous Bhimakali temple, regarded as one of the Shaktipeeths. Overnight at the hotel/ Guest house.
After breakfast, drive to Shimla via Narkanda and Kufri. The Golf course in Naldehra happens to be the oldest golf course in India. Visit Kufri which is known for pine scented air and the beautiful views around. Himalayan National Park at Kufri has several animals of the area including bears and musk deer. Horses and yaks are there for rides. Reach Shimla and check into the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Post breakfast, excursion to Chail and Kufri. Chail is a small hamlet with a natural setting free from pollution. Visit Chail palace. By afternoon we return to Shimla and explore Vice regal Lodge built in (1885), Christ Church built in (1844), The Gaiety Theatre- the first beauty contest of world was supposed to start (1887), The Scandal Point and Jakhoo Temple which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is located at an altitude of 2,455m near the highest point of Shimla ridge. It provides a lovely view of the town itself, the surrounding valleys, and the snow-capped summits and it is a wonderful place to observe how the skyline changes as the sun rises and sets. Evening is to explore the famous Shopping Plaza of the North. Return to hotel for night stay.
Breakfast at hotel. Later transfer to Chandigarh airport.
