Early morning drive to Ujjain, one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) of India and home to the revered Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga. The drive takes approximately 1 to 1½ hours.
Begin your pilgrimage with darshan at the sacred Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is renowned for its unique south-facing (Dakshinamukhi) Jyotirlinga and deep spiritual significance. After darshan, spend time exploring the magnificent Mahakal Lok, one of India's largest temple corridors. The beautifully landscaped complex features grand entrance plazas, lotus ponds, fountains, sculptures depicting episodes from the Shiva Purana, intricately carved sandstone pillars, murals, gardens, and impressive statues of Lord Shiva and his various forms. The corridor offers an enriching spiritual and cultural experience and is an excellent place for photography. Visit Bade Ganeshji Ka Mandir - Located near the Mahakaleshwar Temple, this temple houses a massive idol of Lord Ganesha and is a popular stop for devotees seeking blessings before continuing their pilgrimage, Visit Harsiddhi Mata Temple, Proceed to the ancient Harsiddhi Mata Temple, one of the revered Shakti Peethas. The temple is especially known for its towering oil lamps (Deep Stambhas), which create a spectacular sight during festivals. Visit Kal Bhairav Temple - Continue to the Kal Bhairav Temple, dedicated to the fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva. The temple is unique for its traditional offering of liquor to the deity, a centuries-old ritual observed by devotees After this visit Mangalnath Temple, believed to be the birthplace of the planet Mars (Mangal) according to Hindu tradition. The temple is frequented by devotees seeking relief from Mangal Dosha through special rituals. Our next visit will be to peaceful Sandipani Ashram, where Lord Krishna, Balarama, and Sudama are believed to have received their education under Sage Sandipani. Visit the ancient Gomti Kund within the ashram complex.
Later in the day visit Ram Ghat and Take a leisurely walk along the sacred Ram Ghat on the banks of the holy Shipra River. This is one of the principal ghats of Ujjain and the venue for the grand Simhastha Kumbh Mela held every 12 years. Our last stop will be to the ancient Chintaman Ganesh Temple, one of the oldest Ganesha temples in the region. Devotees believe that prayers here help remove worries and obstacles from life.
